Our planting of sangiovese grosso was established in 1982, using cuttings from a very well known producer of Brunello di Montalcino. The warm days and cool evenings at our San Marcos Road vineyard site are very well suited to the grape; full maturity is possible every year. The combination of climate and soil produces a sangiovese with excellent balance, complexity and varietal character. Our sangiovese is unblended, it has a (correct) apple red color, intense floral aroma concentrated fruit and spice flavors, and great longevity in the bottle.
